Question 1
  • Turkey
  • Ham
  • Roast beef

On Thanksgiving, we can all give thanks that turkey has close to zero carbs! While still low, ham has the highest carbs of our main course options.

Question 2
  • Mashed potatoes
  • Mashed sweet potatoes
  • Stuffing

A typical recipe will stuff you full of carbs! Not that the other starchy sides are innocent – the whole set is enough to make a couch potato out of any of us.

Question 3
  • Sweet corn
  • Green beans
  • Brussels sprouts

Corn has the highest carb count, but our calculations are based on the veggies on their own. Hidden carbs can be found in casseroles, sauces and all the additions that make these vegetables feast-worthy.

Question 4
  • Cranberry sauce (canned)
  • Cranberry sauce (homemade)
  • Gravy

We can leave the age-old canned vs. homemade cranberry sauce debate for another day because gravy is the clear carb leader here. (But in case you were wondering — stick with homemade cranberries, because canned does have more carbs!)

Question 5
  • Pumpkin pie
  • Apple pie
  • Pecan pie

But it’s a close one — pecan pie has just 2 grams fewer carbs. If only picking a holiday dessert was as easy as, well, pie! Looking forward to a slice? Remember throughout the meal that carbs are coming.
